André Harrmann, Dipl.-Ing.(FH), MHP, CPHD, LEED AP, holds graduate degrees from German and U.S. universities in civil engineering, building physics and heritage architecture. After many years of work experience in Germany, U.K. and U.S., he relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia in 2008. His broad professional experience ranges from architectural and structural design work to project and construction management. André worked on a wide array of international projects within the green building and rehabilitation & modernization sectors, including many certified LEED and Passive House projects.
André is Project Manager & Green Building Consultant with Harrmann Consulting, where he provides design support and energy modelling services for Passive House projects in Canada. Together with his partners at CertiPHIers Cooperative he offers education and certification services for the growing North American Passive House industry. As Project Manager for the University of British Columbia (UBC) he facilitated construction projects to achieve UBC’s energy conservation targets.
André is a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD) and a member of the International Passive House Association (iPHA). He was a founding director of the Canadian Passive House Institute West (CanPHI-West) and the North American Passive House Network (NAPHN) where he was focused on advocacy, outreach and education. Andre was also an instructor with UBC Continuing Studies for the Passive House Designer Course as part of the the Sustainability Management program, and is a guest lecturer for other organizations.
